I wish younger me had known: you aren’t broken. You deserve support before you reach your breaking point. Being diagnosed autistic and ADHD late in life gave me language for experiences I’d spent years blaming myself for. I don’t want anyone else to wait that long to understand themselves, find support, or feel less alone. That’s why I support OwnYourStigma’s mission to open conversations around mental illness and challenge the shame surrounding it. My own experience with neurodivergence has shown me how deeply shame can shape the way we see ourselves. As an aunt to an AuDHD niece and someone who works around young minds every day, I want to help build a world where asking for help feels safe. Where differences are met with curiosity and care.
